- COMPOSITION | Cambrian Blue clay is possibly one of the oldest, and most rare clays on Earth, dating back to the first Paleozoic period, the Cambrian, approximately 550 million years ago. It is composed of calcium, iron, magnesium, silica, alumina, potassium, sodium and carbon as well as algae. It’s the iron and carbon, which go through a natural process of heating due to natural geological processes, and algae that give Cambrian Blue its hue.
- TEXTURE & FORM | Our Cambrian Blue clay is the perfect balance of earthy, velvety and somewhat dusty. However, it’s also very smooth and almost creamy to the touch. It feels and looks almost malleable on the surface, and is quite soft in geological terms. It can be broken by hand with little effort. The earthy and gentle feel of the clay is very pleasant and has a primal quality. It has a mild and natural odour of nature and pristine purity.
