SSDR is based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and operated through a network of big hearts from Saskatchewan to British Columbia and down the US West Coast. All of our dogs are housed with volunteer fosters throughout Saskatoon and
surrounding areas.
When SSDR was first created, our main mission was to rescue small breed dogs. However, with the help of numerous volunteers, SSDR has grown into an organization that rescues dogs of all shapes, ages and sizes! We rescue dogs from Saskatoon (and surrounding areas), Northern Communities and from the high-kill shelters throughout California and Las Vegas where overcrowding causes the untimely deaths of an alarmingly high number of innocent animals each and every day. Many of these dogs and puppies are literally rescued from death in the nick of time.
